Additionally, these lamps emit small amounts of UVA to promote a natural environment for your reptile. To ensure optimal basking conditions, be sure to select the correct lamp size for your enclosure and use an appropriate fixture for the wattage and fitting of the lamp.
Place the lamp above the intended basking area, ideally around one sixth to a third from the end of the enclosure, to establish a thermal gradient. It is important to monitor temperatures regularly using a thermometer and provide a basking area large enough for your reptile to fully warm its body.
